Vidovdan Commemoration at St. Sava, June 28
On Sunday, June 28, Saint Sava Cathedral invites the whole community to commemorate Vidovdan, honoring the faith, sacrifice, and memory of all who gave their lives for God, freedom, and our people.
Vidovdan, the Feast of Saint Vitus, is among the most sacred days in the Serbian calendar. It calls to mind the Battle of Kosovo of 1389 and the Kosovo Covenant, when Holy Prince Lazar chose the heavenly kingdom over earthly glory. For generations of Serbian faithful, the day has remained a time to remember the martyrs and heroes of the nation and to renew the commitment to faith that has carried the Serbian people through every trial.
