What to Expect at This Year's Serb Festival
The Annual Serb Festival returns to the Cathedral grounds in Parma on the weekend of July 18 and 19. It is two days of Serbian food, music, and good company, and everyone is welcome. If you have not been before, here is what to expect.
The Food
The food is the main draw. Our grills run all weekend, with a pig and lamb roast at the center of it. You will also find ćevapi, sausages, and plenty of home cooking. Save room for the bake table, where our parish bakers put out pastries and sweets both days.
The Music
Live music plays throughout the weekend. When the kolo gets going on the dance floor, everyone is welcome to join the circle. You do not need to know the steps. Someone will show you.
Folklore and Dancing
Our folklore group performs in traditional dress, with dances and costumes worth seeing. It is always a good time to have a camera ready.
Beer, Rakija, and Good Company
The bar serves cold beer, and if you want to try something traditional, there is rakija, the Serbian fruit brandy. Grab a seat at one of the long tables and stay a while.
For the Kids
The festival is family-friendly, with room for the kids to run around and play while the adults relax at the tables. Bring the whole family.
Browse the Tables
Stop by the vendor and import tables for Serbian goods, crafts, and gifts. It is worth a look before you head out.
Step Inside the Cathedral
The weekend is also a chance to tour the Cathedral. Tours are open to everyone, both days. You do not have to be Serbian or Orthodox to come in and take a look.
